Challenge
Current changes in tourism are beginning to shape a significant new future for the tourism industry, with this in mind Melton BID gave Townapps the challenge to update the app and to highlight the What’s On and What to do in Melton Mowbray part of the app. With opportunity to insert trails at a later stage. The app had to be user friendly and bring out all that is good in Melton Mowbray. Within the app Melton BID want to show all the parking available within the town with costs and if there was parking available within that site.
Solution
With the update of the app showing all the events plan for Melton Mowbray for the upcoming year and the facility of a desktop application to insert more details at anytime. With details of all what to do and again Melton BID can insert more details through the CMS, The parking challenge was resolved with the a parking feature coming from Parkopedia which shows all parking within the town with prices and a traffic light system showing if there was spaces available. Green for spaces, Amber for nearly full and Red to state that the car park was full. With a 7% increase of users since the launch of the new app in March.
